Gerstenbüttel is a village in the municipality of Müden (Aller) in the municipality of Meinersen in the Gifhorn district .
geography
Gerstenbüttel is located in the west of the Gifhorn district on the border with the Celle district . It is located on the southern edge of the Lüneburg Heath , about 20 km from Gifhorn, 30 km from Celle and 35 km from Braunschweig. The Aller runs 200 meters from the town center .
Neighborhoods are Müden , Dieckhorst, Bokelberge, Ettenbüttel and Meinersen.
history
In terms of settlement history, Gerstenbüttel is one of the Büttel localities. The landmark of the village is the memorial stone, which is supposed to remember the knights of the 'Garsenburg'. Inscription:

Between 1992 and 1994 a bridge over the Aller was built for around 400,000 DM (today around 292,000 euros). It has a wingspan of 35.6 m and a width of 2.5 m. The bridge connects the streets “In den Sandbergen”, Müden (Aller) , and “Im Wildgarten”, Gerstenbüttel and is only allowed for cyclists and pedestrians.
In summer, the village festival is held in Gerstenbüttel, where various games and delicacies are expected. On Holy Saturday the Gerstenbüttel Easter bonfire takes place on the outskirts of the village .
