Hildegard Gerster-Schwenkel

Hildegard Gerster b. Schwenkel (born March 11, 1923 in Stuttgart ; † November 27, 2016 in Gerlingen ) was a German teacher and Swabian poet .

Life

Hildegard Gerster was the daughter of Hans Schwenkel and Martha Schwenkel. She was encouraged by her parents, especially her father, and like him, she had an eye for nature and the arts. She was a teacher for thirty years. In addition to primary educational contributions, Gerster-Schwenkel was best known for her poems in Swabian dialect as well as in written language .

Her poems, simple and funny at first glance, have a philosophical and profound character that is valued far beyond the "Ländle". She lived in different areas and places in Württemberg, for example on the Killesberg , in the area of ​​the Upper Danube Valley , where she was based in Gutenstein for several years , in Ostrach and in Gerlingen , where she died in 2016. She wrote a poem about each of these areas.
