Gertraud Burkert

Gertraud Burkert (born March 21, 1940 in Munich ) is a German local politician ( SPD ).

Life

After graduating from the urban Elsa-Brändström-Gymnasium in Munich- Pasing , she graduated in German studies , classics and history in Munich and Vienna , she with the promotion of Dr. phil. graduated from Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

Burkert was an honorary city councilor in Munich from May 1990 to September 1993. From 1993 to 2005 she was Second Mayor , responsible for the social committees, the school and sport committees, the municipal committee, civil affairs and the district committees.

She was chairwoman of the supervisory board of the Munich zoo and the Munich monastery. At the beginning of 2014 she was given honorary citizenship by the Munich City Council for her long-term commitment to a social Munich .
