Gertrud Ehrle

Gertrud Ehrle (born April 29, 1897 in Ravensburg , † June 11, 1985 in Bonn ) was a German psychologist and honorary president of the Catholic German Women's Association (KDFB).

Life

Ehrle studied psychology and social work . With the dissertation From the value life of the small child. Observations and experiments , she received her doctorate in Cologne in 1929.

In addition to her position in the Catholic German Women's Association, she was co-founder of the German Mothers' Recovery Association and in the Catholic Working Group for Development Aid. In addition, she was the founder and honorary member of the board of the German Women's Council and board member of the World Union of Catholic Women's Organizations (UMOFC). Ehrle was also a member of the board of directors of the World Union of Catholic Women's Associations (WUCWO).

She was called as a lay auditor to the Second Vatican Council .

Due to a serious illness, Gertrud Ehrle died on June 11, 1985 in Bonn.

Ehrle was a member of the Presidium, the national executive committee of the KDFB, from 1952 to 1970. From 1970 to 1979 she took over its management and from 1979 the position of honorary president.

Awards

In 1965 she was awarded the Order of Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice and the Great Federal Cross of Merit for her great efforts . The Gertrud-Ehrle-Weg bears her name in her place of birth, Ravensburg.
