Ehrenbachtal with Kaltem Brunnen is a protected landscape area (protected area number 4.16.003) in the Tübingen district .

Location and description

The protected area is located south of the Kusterdinger district of Immenhausen and takes its name from the two brooks Ehrenbach and Kalter Brunnen that flow through the area. The protected area extends to the west until the Ehrenbach passes under the B 27 and flows into the Steinlach . The area belongs to the natural area Schönbuch and Glemswald (No. 104).

Protection purpose

According to the Protected Area Ordinance, an essential protection purpose is the preservation of the streams with the riparian trees and the preservation of the numerous hedges and field trees. The wet areas in the protected area must also be preserved. Another protection purpose is to keep the landscape open and to preserve the character of the landscape, which is characterized on the one hand by the forest and on the other hand by the spacious agricultural areas.
