The hardship is a landscape protection area in the municipalities of Kusterdingen , Wannweil , and Reutlingen designated by the Tübingen regional council on December 15, 1995 by ordinance .

location

The landscape protection area Hänen is located in the districts of Tübingen and Reutlingen and covers around 478 hectares. Of this, around 370 hectares are in the Tübingen district on the Kusterdingen markings and 108 hectares in the Reutlingen district on the Wannweil and Reutlingen markings .

Landscape character

The hardnesses form a plateau between Steinlach , Neckar and Echaztal , which is surrounded by a mixed beech forest. The intensively used arable land and orchards are typical. The highest point is on a forest-free plateau west of the Wankheim Aspenhau settlement 455 m above sea level. NHN .

In addition to the orchard meadows , fruit trees along the fields, moist grassland and streams with a multitude of rare animal and plant species are also worthy of protection . The recreational value of this landscape is to be preserved and improved.

Other protected areas neither border on the LSG hardness nor overlap the area.

In the protected area is the Mähringer Halde on which a model orchard of Reutlingen Pomologie was laid out in 1861 under the responsibility of Eduard Lucas .
