Öschenbachtal is a nature and landscape protection area (NSG number 4.281) in the area of ​​the city of Mössingen in the Tübingen district in Baden-Württemberg . With an ordinance of 9 September 1997, the Tübingen Regional Council placed the area under nature protection.

location

The nature and landscape protection area is located directly adjacent to the village to the northeast and south of the Öschingen district and includes parts of the valley area of ​​the Öschenbach below the wooded steep ascent to the plateau of Roßberg , Bolberg and Filsenberg .

The nature reserve is located in the natural areas 094- Middle Kuppenalb and 101- Foreland of the Middle Swabian Alb within the natural spatial units 09- Swabian Alb and 10- Swabian Keuper-Lias-Land . It is supplemented by the 47 hectare landscape protection area No. 4.16.022 of the same name and is part of the 3,568 hectare FFH area No. 7620343 Albtrauf between Mössingen and Gönningen as well as the 39,597 hectare bird protection area No. 7422441 Middle Swabian Alb .

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the maintenance and extensification of the rather poor meadows and pastures in their dry and wet forms, in particular the semi-arid grassland and hillside swamps, as well as the extensification of the intensively cultivated meadow and pasture areas to protect the plants and animal species that still exist.
