Schönbuch-Westhang / Ammerbuch is a nature reserve (NSG number 4.299) on the western slope of the Schönbuch between Tübingen and Herrenberg in Baden-Württemberg . With an ordinance of November 15, 2000, the Tübingen Regional Council placed the area under nature protection.
history
The area has been a wine-growing area since the Middle Ages . In later times, viticulture was largely replaced by fruit growing . For over 100 years, orchards have shaped the landscape.
location
The nature reserve is located in the natural areas Schönbuch and Glemswald and Obere Gäue . It lies above the suburbs of Breitenholz and Entringen the municipality of Ammerbuch and extends along the western slope of the Schönbuch. It is part of the FFH area No. 7420–341 Schönbuch and the bird sanctuary No. 7420–441 Schönbuch .
Protection purpose
The purpose of the protection is to preserve the extensive, almost uninterrupted belt of orchards around the Schönbuch with several thousand standard trees and age-related dead wood.
fauna
Particularly noteworthy is the dark blue ant blue . The butterfly is classified as critically endangered in the IUCN Red List .
