The Vollmershalde area is a nature reserve (NSG number 4.229) designated by the ordinance of 10 September 1993 by the Tübingen regional council and a supplementary landscape protection area east of the Rottenburg district of Hemmendorf in the Tübingen district in Baden-Württemberg , Germany .
location
The approximately 52 hectare (ha) nature reserve Vollmershalde belongs to the natural area Schönbuch and Glemswald . It is located at the southwestern transition of the Rammer to the fertile plains of the Upper Gau. The slopes used as vineyards in earlier times are located at an altitude of 450 m above sea level. NN up to 520 m above sea level NN . Remnants of this use are still present in the form of small walls and stairs.
The protected landscape area of the same name with the protected area number 4.16.018 and a size of 6.2 hectares has a protective and buffer function against the built-up areas of the village of Hemmendorf. The nature reserve lies entirely in the 2,886.0 hectare FFH area Rammert .
Flora and fauna
In the flat areas above the slope edge there are warmth-loving plant communities of the forest edges and oak-beech forests. In the upper areas with a steeper slope, semi-arid lawns and plants of the fringing communities such as goat clover , grape lily , cranesbill and deer root hairline grow . Gooseberries, German irises , wild tulips and garlic are found in the former vineyards . In the meantime there are also bushes and afforested trees on the rough meadows . The foot of the slope is formed by sage and oat meadows with old orchards, quaking grass, Pippau , meadow bluebells, meadow sage and daisies. The fruit trees provide habitat for cave breeders such as the green woodpecker or wryneck (bird) . Furthermore, 13 species of orchids, 54 species of wild bees and 9 endangered voices were detected.
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose is the preservation of the historical cultural landscape with its different habitats for endangered animal and plant species.
