The Savuti , also known as the Savuti Channel in English , is a river in the Chobe National Park in Botswana .

description

The Savuti swamp

The Savuti is the extension of the Magwekwana (or Selinda) river, which releases water from the Okavango Delta to the Linyanti during floods . Conversely, the Savuti absorbs water from the Linyanti during floods in the Cuando catchment area and forwards it to the Mababe Depression ( Mababe Depression ), where it seeps away .

The Mababe Depression, once a large lake, with the inland delta of the Savuti, the Savuti Marsh ( Savuti Marsh ), is an important water source in the Chobe National Park. Therefore, a lot of wild animals gather there.

Drain

The Savuti flowed continuously until the late 1880s and then stopped until 1958. Then it stopped again in 1982 and started flowing again in 2008.
