Hirschauer Berg is a nature reserve (NSG number 4.077) near Tübingen in Baden-Württemberg . With an ordinance of July 30, 1980, the Tübingen Regional Council placed the area under nature protection.

history

The area lies on the southern slope of the Spitzberg . It has been a wine-growing area since the Middle Ages. Vineyard walls and terraces still shape the landscape today and give it an important cultural and historical value. Over time, this landscape was more and more left to itself. For several years now, some of the ruined dry stone walls have been erected again.

location

The nature reserve is located in the Schönbuch and Glemswald natural area . It is located north of Hirschau and extends along the southern slope of the Spitzberg mountain range, which runs from west to east. It is part of the FFH area No. 7419-341 Spitzberg, Pfaffenberg, Kochhartgraben and Neckar as well as the bird sanctuary No. 7420-441 Schönbuch .

Protection purpose

The protection purpose is the preservation of the diverse flora such as semi-arid grassland, bush stages and, in the upper slope area, light pine forest similar to steppe heather, as well as the extremely species-rich fauna closely connected to the plant communities.

Flora and fauna

The Hungarian flat pea and the shaggy pointed keel , which immigrated from the Pontic-Mediterranean region, should be emphasized . Both plants are classified as particularly protected according to BArtSchV . The dry and warm steep slopes of the area offer habitat for the dragonfly butterfly, which is rare in Central Europe .
