Werner Hösli (born August 30, 1961 in Haslen ; resident in Glarus Süd ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ) and a former member of the Canton of Glarus .

biography

Hösli was the municipality clerk from 1982 to 1986, from 1986 to 1994 councilor and from 1994 to 2001 the municipality president of Haslen. Hösli was operations manager at the Linthal spinning mill from 1997 to 2009 , where he is also a member of the board of directors. He has been the head of the Schwanden Retirement Center since 2010 .

In 2001 he was elected to the district administrator of the Canton of Glarus and was in office until 2009. On June 1, 2014, he was elected to the Council of States to succeed This Jenny , who had resigned for health reasons. In the parliamentary elections on October 20, 2019, he surprisingly lost his seat in the Council of States to the Greens Mathias Zopfi .

Werner Hösli is married and has one son.
