Kirchberg and Kochhartgraben is a protected landscape area (protected area number 4.16.001) in the Tübingen district.

Location and description

The reserve is located west of the Reusten district of Ammerbuch . It serves as a supplementary area for the nature reserve No. 4265 Kochhartgraben and Ammertal slopes that it borders between Reusten and the A 81 north and south. It belongs to the natural area 122- Obere Gäue within the natural spatial main unit 12- Neckar- and Tauber-Gäuplatten .

Protection purpose

The ridge of the Kirchberg above the Ammertal is culturally and historically significant, its slopes are in the nature reserve. Several protected plant species thrive on the steep shell limestone southern slopes of the Kochhartgraben in warm, sunny, dry and shallow locations.
