Gertrud Pfander
Gertrud Pfander (born May 1, 1874 in Basel , † November 9, 1898 in Davos ) was a Swiss writer .
Life
Gertrud Pfander was born out of wedlock and came to Bern as an orphan after her mother's death at the age of six . After a business school had graduated, she worked as a governess in England , Scotland and Belgium operate. In 1893 she returned to Switzerland and worked as a telephone operator in Bern. The last years of her life were overshadowed by a tuberculosis disease, because of which she had to spend several years in Davos sanatoriums .
Gertrud Pfander left a narrow lyrical work behind . It was edited by the poet, editor and publisher Karl Henckell . Her poems, held in conventional rhyme form , mostly deal with the author's unhappy love affairs.
She was buried on November 11, 1898 in the Davos cemetery.
