The comprehensive school Ebsdorfer Grund (GSE) is a cooperative comprehensive school in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district . It offers a complete range of educational opportunities in the lower secondary level in Ebsdorfergrund , but also accepts students far beyond the municipal boundaries. Since the 2019/20 school year there has been a capacity restriction of 125 students for each new year.
Educational concept
Building on a support level , the GSE combines all three types of secondary school ( secondary school , secondary school , grammar school ) as well as a school branch for learning support under one roof. The priority is to support every child in their talents and to bring them to a qualifying school leaving certificate. Coexistence at school is characterized by mutual appreciation and respect. Bonding and relationships are central factors in learning and life, through which the desire to learn, motivation and creativity are to be activated and promoted.
The GSE is a comprehensive school on the way to becoming a cooperative all-day school . Today she offers all-day care on five school days. Contents of the all-day school, which were previously voluntary, have been moved from afternoon to morning and thus become compulsory lessons.

At the comprehensive school Ebsdorfer Grund, the vocational qualification of the special school , the secondary school certificate or qualifying secondary school certificate (end of grade 9) and the secondary school certificate or qualifying secondary school certificate (end of grade 10) can be obtained.
Awards
In 2011, the comprehensive school Ebsdorfer Grund achieved 3rd place in Hesse in the competition Strong School - Germany's best schools that lead to the qualification for training, in 2015 it was the state winner in Hesse and took 4th place nationwide.
classes
In addition to normal lessons, the comprehensive school Ebsdorfer Grund also offers electives or working groups after and during school. For example, the Bienen-AG, the Trampolin-AG, work with wood. Four foreign languages are also offered: English, Latin, French and Spanish. If you do not want to learn any other language as a secondary school student, you can also choose the subject WPU (compulsory optional lessons), for example IT, junior dementia companion, Lego robotics, performing games.
Exchange program
The intercultural learning plays an important role on the GSE. There are currently six different exchange programs for grades 7 to 10, which last from one week (Denmark, Spain, France, Poland) to three weeks (USA) up to five weeks (Australia).
