The comprehensive school an der Erft is a comprehensive school founded in 1991 in Neuss . The school is located on Aurinstrasse in the Reuschenberg district , on the Erft that gives it its name and near Selikumer Park .
The school has around 850 students and has a high school with its own building. Years 5 to 7 are taught at Aurinstraße 55, years 8 to 13 in the building at Aurinstraße 59. Elsbeth Faber has been the school principal since 2017. In 2017, the building of the special needs school Schule am Wildpark, which was closed at the end of the 2014/15 school year, was converted and used as a comprehensive school location from 2018.
In 2017, the comprehensive school won first prize in a competition for inclusive school projects in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss .
The school cooperates with the Theater am Schlachthof Neuss and the Kulturforum Alte Post . At the comprehensive school there is the compulsory elective subject “Representation and Design”. The theater pedagogue Jens Spörkmann from Theater am Schlachthof works on projects with the students. There is also an “Acting English” course, which won a prize for an English-language science fiction film at the InterACT Film Festival in Essen in June 2017. A theater project for inclusion classes is also being carried out in cooperation with the Alte Post cultural forum.
