Protected landscape component of field trees in the Obermarsberger Forest

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The protected landscape component of field trees in the Obermarsberger Wald with an area of 2.04  hectares is located in the urban area of Marsberg northwest of Heddinghausen in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated in 2008 with the Marsberg landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis as a protected landscape component (LB). The LB is surrounded by the Echelpohlen landscape protection area . The LB is in the northeast part directly on the county road . The LB is only about 80 m away from the protected landscape component Bohlen Kämpchen to the north . On the eastern side of the county road, about 90 m to the northeast, there is the Kochs Kuhle natural monument .

description

The landscape plan explains the LB: “It is a small, north-northwest exposed field wood, predominantly hornbeam, with a layer of herbs rich in species, individuals and flowers on Zechstein limestone. A mantle wood of field maple, hazel and elder is sometimes formed; on the north-west corner there is an old oak with thick ivy clusters. At the eastern edge, a "spruce field" bordering the hornbeam was included, which is already in disintegration due to the location disadvantage and, given the appropriate hardwood stocking, can be expected to have biotope qualities similar to the part currently worthy of protection. In the landscape, the existing structure complements the surrounding small landscape structures within the large-scale field, which were also largely secured as ND or LB in the plan. "

Protection purpose

The designation as LB took place:

  • to maintain, develop or restore the efficiency and functionality of the ecosystem,
  • for revitalizing, structuring or maintaining the townscape and landscape and
  • to ward off harmful effects.

Like the other LBs in the landscape plan area, the LB represents an outstanding habitat for the ecological efficiency of the natural balance. It also serves as an element that structures and animates the landscape. The designation serves to ward off real or potential harmful effects through the removal of plants, relief or water changes, etc.
