Kochs Kuhle natural monument

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The natural monument Kochs Kuhle with 0.39  hectares is located in the urban area of Marsberg north of Heddinghausen in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a natural monument (ND) in 2008 with the Marsberg landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . The LB is surrounded by the Echelpohlen landscape protection area . The ND is located in the northeast part directly east of the county road 65. The ND is only about 80 m away from the protected landscape component Bohlen Kämpchen to the west . On the western-eastern side of the district road, about 90 m southwest of the protected landscape component, field trees in the Obermarsberger forest are located .

description

The landscape plan explains the ND: “The property forms an impressive hollow form directly on Kreisstraße 65 between Marsberg and Heddinghausen. Under a group of tree willows, a small flowing body of water coming from the east seeps away on the western edge of the red sandstone layer on Zechstein limestone, which also led to the creation of the natural monument Schwalgloch Platte to the northeast . Despite the location of the actual infiltration point around 70 m east of the road, a larger basin with pronounced embankments is formed in the “space in between”, which is likely to have its origin in ice age erosion phases that were richer in water , when the Schwalgloch could not completely absorb the water (also beyond the K 65 continues a clear hollow valley shape). "

Protection purpose

The landscape plan explains the protection purpose: "All the following natural monuments represent individual creations of nature that are in need of protection for scientific, geographical and geological reasons as well as because of their rarity and peculiarity." In the ND, "all actions are prohibited that lead to destruction, damage or Change of the protected property. In particular, it is forbidden:

  • To carry out embankments, backfills, excavations or excavations or to change the shape of the ground in any other way;
  • To damage, uproot, dig up trees, bushes or other wild plants or to sever parts of them or to impair their growth in any other way;
  • to erect structural facilities. "
