Career and work

After a preliminary study in Rome Clemens August was in 1752 by the Turnar a Dompräbende in Münster awarded. However, he had to return it after a legal dispute with Clemens August von Merveldt, who was also preparing for a trial . By papal approval, he received a prebend in Hildesheim in 1758 . Before this was converted into a priestly priest, Clemens August had to assure him that he would be ordained a priest within a year . He obviously fulfilled this condition, because in 1770 he was awarded a prebend in Münster.
