Venne is a part of the municipality of Senden in the Westphalian district of Coesfeld .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1249. The provost of St. Mauritz in Münster confirmed the responsibility of the parish Amelsbüren for the hospital for St. John. In 1255, the chapel of St. Johannis zu Venne was mentioned in a document issued by the municipal authorities of Münster . In the same year the houses between the house and Venne were transferred to Venne for baptism and burial. In the year 1290 the vein is expressly referred to as " parochia ".

In 1663 the Gogericht Senden (with Venne) was transferred to the cathedral chapter of Münster. Later Venne belonged to the Telgte Gogericht .

Until the beginning of the 19th century, the place and the parish Venne belonged to the bishopric of Münster and was assigned to the Wolbeck office. In the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss (1803) Prussia received parts of the disbanded Monastery of Münster along with other areas for its territorial losses on the Left Bank of the Rhine . Venne was subordinated to the new Prussian district of Lüdinghausen and was now part of the hereditary principality of Münster .

In connection with the establishment of the Rhine Confederation (1806), the region was integrated into the Grand Duchy of Berg and in 1808 assigned to the Ems department. In 1811, significant parts of the Münsterland were ceded by the Grand Duchy to the French Empire and until 1813 belonged to the Département de l'Ems-Supérieur , which was part of the Hanseatic departments . Venne belonged with Hiddingsel and Ottmarsbocholt to the Mairie Senden under the Maire Max Friedrich von Droste zu Senden After the French withdrew (1813), Prussia took over, initially provisionally, its previous areas on the right bank of the Rhine.

Due to the agreements made at the Congress of Vienna (1815), the region became part of Prussia on a permanent basis. The municipality of Venne was assigned to the new administrative district of Münster and the province of Westphalia together with the district of Lüdinghausen under the Prussian administration .

In 1958 it was connected to the general electricity network of VEW . On January 1, 1975, Venne became a district of Senden as part of the regional reform .
