Ernst Friedrich Ludwig von Ascheberg zu Venne (born September 10, 1702 in Venne ; † September 22, 1762 ibid) was officiator in Werne and real district administrator.

Life

Origin and family

Ernst Friedrich von Ascheberg zu Venne grew up as the son of Johann Matthias von Ascheberg (1675–1732, privy councilor and official coroner) and his wife Katharina Agnes Elisabeth von Lipperheide zu Ihorst and Buddenberg (1682–1729) together with his siblings Anna Agnes Johanna Josepha († 1766 Dechantin in pen Nottuln), Anna Angela (∞ Friederich Christian Heidenreich Theodore of Bever Fjord), Karl Heinrich Anton (1718-1760, canon in Minden and Münster) and Johann Matthias (canon of Munster) in the ancient Westphalian noble family of Ascheberg on . On December 8, 1729, he married Sophia Ursula Droste zu Füchten, daughter of Ernst Dietrich Droste zu Füchten (electoral councilor and Landdrost) and his wife Ursula Sibylla von Plettenberg zu Lehnhausen. The children Ursula Sophia (abbess in Nottuln), Bernardina (canoness), Karl Ludwig , Clemens August and Johann Matthias Kaspar emerged from the marriage.

Career and work

With the receipt of the tonsure on September 20, 1715 Ernst Friedrich was prepared for a spiritual life. After him in Minden a Dompräbende was assigned, he received in 1723 by papal encouragement a prebend in Munster . In favor of his brother Karl Heinrich Anton as a placeholder for the younger brother Johann Matthias Kaspae , he renounced the prebends on October 12, 1729. After his father resigned from his office, Ernst Friedrich became a real district administrator on August 13, 1729 and a year later he became official in Werne. With the revolt to the knighthood of Münster on December 13, 1730, he became a representative in the state parliament , a committee made up of the three estates. His task was to regulate the tax system and from 1447 also the feudal system in the bishopric of Münster.
