Johann Matthias Detmar von Ascheberg zu Venne (born March 15, 1716 ; † November 11, 1771 in Münster ) was canon in Münster and archdeacon in Warendorf.

Life

As the son of Johann Matthias von Ascheberg and his wife Katharina Agnes Elisabeth von Lipperheide zu Ihorst and Buddenberg (1682–1729), Johann Matthias Detmar von Ascheberg zu Venne grew up together with his siblings Anna Agnes Johanna Josepha († 1766, dean of Nottuln Abbey ), Anna Angela (∞ Friederich Christian Heidenreich Theodor von Beverförde), Karl Heinrich Anton (Canon) and Ernst Friedrich (Amtsdroste and real district administrator) in the ancient Westphalian noble family von Ascheberg .

With the receipt of the tonsure on July 28, 1729 Johann Matthias Detmar was prepared for a spiritual life. After waiving his brother Ernst Friedrich he received on October 12, 1729 Dompräbende in Munster . In 1747 he took over the archdeaconate on the Drein and in 1761 the archdeaconate in Warendorf. He was provost of St. Martini in Münster and was buried in the cathedral in Münster.
