Protected part of the landscape
The protection category of a protected part of the landscape in the various nature conservation laws of the Austrian federal states roughly corresponds to that of a protected part of the landscape in Germany's nature conservation law . Their protection is limited in contrast to the large-scale landscape protection areason a small part of the landscape. A protection is usually given to preserve the rarity, uniqueness or beauty of such areas, but also for scientific reasons. In many cases, these protected parts of the landscape are old avenues or groups of trees and again watercourses, flowing waters or ponds, but also small moors and natural forest reserves and parks. Particularly valuable individual trees are usually not protected as a protected part of the landscape, but as a natural monument.
