List of protected parts of the landscape in the Salzburg-Umgebung district
The list of protected parts of the landscape in the Salzburg-Umgebung district contains the protected parts of the landscape in the Salzburg-Umgebung district ( Land Salzburg ). The district is home to a total of 27 protected parts of the landscape, with three protected areas in the municipality of Sankt Gilgen and two each in the municipalities of Elsbethen , Eugendorf , Thalgau and Wals-Siezenheim . The protected parts of the landscape include a wide variety of biotopes, with bodies of water, moorland, meadows, avenues and forests under the protected areas.

The Glasenbachklamm was placed under protection mainly because of its beautiful rock and erosion forms as well as for ecological reasons. However, scientific reasons, the recreational function and species protection also play an important role. The gorge formed by the Klausbach has geological folds, petrified fossils and a damp, cool climate. The predominant plant community is the ravine forest, in the valley floor area there are some riparian forest plants. The Römerweg was placed under protection mainly because of the aesthetics of the landscape and its cultural and historical significance. According to the authorities, the area should be preserved in a balanced natural way for recreation due to the interplay between the landscape elements of water and forest. The area is home to a striking tree population of 80 to 200-year-old ash, oak, hornbeam, linden and maple trees. The protected area pear and chestnut avenue Thalgau comprises a double-row pear avenue made up of 30 trees and a single-row pear avenue made up of 33 trees in the Pfarrhofallee / Ischlerbahnstraße area. There is also a double-row chestnut avenue on Nikolaus-Gaertner-Weg. The pear avenue consists of several types of cider pear, the chestnut avenue consists of specimens of the common horse chestnut ( Aesculus hippocastanum ).
