Thierry Kasereka (born July 26, 1994 in Goma , Zaire ) is a football player from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Career

Kasereka was born in Goma in North Kivu Province and lived with his parents in Crișcior, Romania, in Hunedoara County in Transylvania for a while before returning to the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2003.

Career

In the club

Kasereka started his in the Center de formation de football in Kinshasa . He then moved to DC Virunga in the spring of 2005, before joining the AS Vita Club youth team in 2007 . Kasereka has been part of the senior squad of the AS Vita Club Kinshasa, in the Linafoot, since summer 2010 . In his first senior season (2010) he immediately won the LINAFOOT championship .

National team

Kasereka was nominated to the Democratic Republic of the Congo's provisional squad for the 2014 African Nations Championship in South Africa, before being removed from the final squad of national coach Claude Le Roy shortly before the tournament began . Kasereka has played in six senior internationals since his first nomination in 2011. He previously played in the U-23 of Congo DR in qualifying for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London . He also took part in the prestigious Toulon tournament in 2013 .
