Busted Chains is a medium-length German silent film drama from 1914 starring Fern Andra .

action

The moral image traces the life of the motherless and unresponsive daughter of a drinker, who becomes a prostitute, then tries herself as a bar dancer and finally escapes social misery by marrying a count. With its help, she gradually overcomes the domestic milieu from which she escaped, even if new dangers and temptations threaten to make her fall again. After all, the married countess even puts her own child in great danger through her irresponsible behavior. She is scared to death and has a nervous breakdown. Only now does the woman understand that she has to break the chains of her past in order to dare a real new beginning.
