action
Lydia Bebé works as a tamer in the circus. She is very jealous of the snake dancer Ilka Vörösz, whom she loathes extensively. Baron Ilfingen, who has his eye on Ilka, gives the young woman a job in the Palmengarten establishment. Ringmaster Hopkins is not at all happy about her departure and tries to get Ilka to return. In vain. But he does not give up and intrigues together with a certain Count von Hohenau, a friend of the baron, who in turn was once turned away by Ilka to disavow Baron Ilfingen.
Hohenau and Hopkins suspect Ilfingen to be a cardsharp in order to get him away from Ilka. But thanks to Lydia and Ilka, the dizziness is revealed. The two men are arrested for their crime. Lydia then makes another attempt to get rid of Ilka. This time the animal trainer chases her crocodile at the competitor, whose snake however thwarted this attack.
