In the broadcast every spectator could either through a phone call or send an SMS for a music video right. The video with the most votes was then broadcast. There were around 80 to 100 clips to choose from. The list of clips was updated once a week.

Initially, Get the Clip aired on VIVA Plus for three hours in the afternoon. The slogan at the time was Please the litter and Get the Clip . At that time, the design was kept in the colors orange, yellow and blue to match the on-air design of VIVA Plus. Later, Get the Clip was broadcast nine hours a day in a gray-green design with different color accents. Get-the-Clip issues with a focus on a certain genre of music - such as rock , hip-hop or party music - were broadcast at regular intervals .

After VIVA Plus was switched to Comedy Central, the program was integrated into the VIVA program.
