The common nasal insect ( Acrida ungarica ) is a short- antennae insect from the family of field locusts (Acrididae).
features
The animals are between 30 and 60 millimeters long and have a slim build. They are usually green or brown in color. Some animals have high-contrast drawings (e.g. in the picture: light brown on green). Its elongated, narrow head, with the upper part with the eyes shifted far forward, is characteristic. Their antennae are also flat and tapering at the end. Another important feature is the long and narrow hind legs.
Occurrence and way of life
They are the only common and common nasal terror species in the European Mediterranean countries . In Central Europe they only occur in the Hungarian lowlands and in the east of Austria . Common nasal horrors live mainly in very dry locations, such as B. on sparsely vegetated fallow land. Adult animals can be found from July to October. They feed on phytophagus .
