Gerrard "Gez" Varley is a British techno musician and DJ who became known in the 1990s as a member of the band LFO and later appeared solo under the pseudonym G-Man .

Life

Varley founded the band LFO in 1990 together with Mark Bell , whom he met in Leeds in the mid-1980s . With the first self-titled release "LFO" they achieved a club hit, as a result of which they were signed by Warp Records . The single, released a short time later, sold over 130,000 copies and immediately reached number 12 in the British charts.

In the mid-1990s, Varley devoted himself increasingly to his solo productions. His first solo album Kushti was released in 1996 under the pseudonym G-Man. That same year, Varley finally left LFO. This was followed by publications on his own label G Records and the German labels Studio K7 and Force Inc. Music Works .

In 1999 Varley moved to Wiesbaden . In 2000 he founded the label GMR Records together with his girlfriend .
