Geza L. Weisz

Geza L. Weisz , also Geza L. Weiss , Geza Weiss , Géza L. Weiss , Géza L. Weisz , Geza L. Weiss and Geza von Weiß (born February 16, 1904 in Berlin ; died June 6, 1944 in Auschwitz ) was a German cabaret artist and actor .

Live and act

Geza Weisz had been a small actor and cabaret artist in Berlin since the early 1920s , most recently also at the catacomb . He also appeared at the theater in productions by Max Reinhardt and Heinz Hilpert .

From 1926 he received small, mostly comic roles in films. Weisz, who was of Jewish descent, emigrated to the seizure of power by the Nazis in 1933 in the Netherlands, where he was a comedian at the cabaret Ping Pong became active.

During the Second World War he was arrested and taken first to the Westerbork transit camp and then to the Auschwitz concentration camp, where he was murdered. His son is the Dutch film director Frans Weisz (born 1938).
