The company Ghandhara Nissan Limited (GNL short or GHNL) is an automotive and commercial vehicle manufacturers with headquarters in Karachi , Pakistan . GNL has a technical cooperation agreement with Nissan and is a joint venture with Nissan Diesel to manufacture passenger cars, commercial vehicles and trucks.

history

The company was founded in 1981 and has been listed on the Karachi Stock Exchange since 1992.

The production facilities are located in Port Qasim .

In 1985 Nissan trucks and buses began to be produced. Different figures are recorded for the car production of this brand: from 1996 (or 1997) to 1999 (or 2004) and from 2007 to 2009. Car production has been idle since then.

While discussions with the French manufacturer Renault were suspended at the end of 2017, production of the Datsun Go is planned.

Models

Between 1996 and 2004, GNL manufactured 2573 Nissan Sunny. Subsequently (or already from 2002) the Land Rover Defender was assembled until 2015 . From 2005 the Daewoo Matiz was assembled under the name Chevrolet Exclusive .

Dongfeng brand trucks were also produced.

In 2017, GNL entered into a joint venture with JAC Motors to manufacture the X200 light commercial vehicle.
