The Ghujerab Mountains form a mountain group of the Karakoram , which is almost entirely in the Pakistani special territory of Gilgit-Baltistan . Only a small part of the Ghujerab Mountains east of the Kunjirap Pass is located in the Xinjiang autonomous region of the People's Republic of China .

The Ghujerab Mountains form part of the northern "Lesser Karakoram". The Ghujerab Mountains are divided by the valley of the eponymous river Ghujerab , a left tributary of the Kunjirap , into a southern and a northern part. The 6,977  m high Karun Koh , the highest point of the Ghujerab Mountains, is located in the southern mountain range. The 6483  m high Chapchingal Sar is the highest peak in the northern ridge. The mountain range is bordered to the north and west by the Kunjirap river valley. To the south, the Shimshal river valley separates the Ghujerab Mountains from Hispar Muztagh . The Braldu Glacier forms the eastern boundary of the mountain group. The Tupopdan forms the southwestern end of the Ghujerab Mountains .
