Ghulam Nabi Charkhi
Ghulam Nabi Charkhi (* 1890 in Charkh District, Lugar Province , † November 8, 1932 near Kabul ) was an Afghan diplomat .
Life
Ghulam Nabi Charkhi was the son of Ghulam Haidar Khan Charkhi - a field marshal from the army of Habibullah Khan - and the brother of Ghulam Siddiq Khan Charkhi . Amanullah Khan appointed him his envoy in Moscow from 1922 to 1924 . After that he was engaged in the implementation of pacification campaigns . From 1924 to 1925 he was deployed in the Lugar valley during an uprising by the Mangal Pashtuns .
From 1926 to 1928 he was ambassador to Paris . In 1928 he was again envoy to Moscow. In 1929 he led a group of cadets who had studied in Turkey and tried to bring Amanullah Khan back to power. They were initially successful in doing so in June 1929. From May to June 1929 they held Mazar-i Sharif . They failed against the troops of Habibullah Kalakâni and had to withdraw to the territory of the Soviet Union . On a pardon from Habibullah Kalakâni, he returned to Afghanistan in 1932 and allegedly organized another pro-Amanullah Khan uprising in a southern province. In November 1932, Mohammed Nadir Shah ordered him to the Tajbeg Palace and accused him of calling up the Zadran Pashtuns in Paktia . During interrogation, Ghulam Nabi Charkhi questioned the legality of Mohammed Nadir Shah's rule, whereupon he and 17 other members of the Charkhi family were executed. Abdul Khaliq - a Hazara and son of Khudadad Khan, a servant of Ghulam Nabi Charkhi - attended Amani High School and shot and killed Mohammed Nadir Shah at an official ceremony.
