The Ghustang is a mountain in the Dhaulagiri Himal , a part of the Himalayas in Nepal .

The Ghustang located 24.2 km west of the eight thousand meter Dhaulagiri I . The highest point is the 6529  m high northern summit. The south summit measures 6465  m . The Ghustang is separated from the Gurja Himal ( 7193  m ), 3.05 km further east, by a 6010  m high pass. To the north of the Ghustang, the Kaphe Glacier flows in a westerly direction. Beyond the glacier , the seven-thousanders Dhaulagiri VI ( 7268  m ) and Churen Himal ( 7371  m ) rise .

Ascent history

On October 22nd, 1962, James OM Roberts, together with Nawang Dorje and Ang Pema, achieved the first ascent of the northern Ghustang summit.
