Beni, the administrative seat of the district

The Myagdi district is one of 77 districts in Nepal .

The district is shaped by the deep valley of the Kali Gandaki between the massifs of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna . The Annapurna circular route leads along the Gandaki to the z. B. the place Tatopani with its thermal bath is located directly on the river. Another place on this trail is Ghodepani at about 2900  m with the nearby Pun Danda (Poon Hill) and the view of the peaks of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna.

Demographics

The district is located in the Dhaulagiri administrative zone . At the 2001 census, 114,447 people were living in Myagdi; In 2011 there were 113,641, 51,395 of them male and 62,246 female. Religious affiliation was split between 87% Hinduism, 10% Buddhism, 1.3% Christianity, 0.8% Prakriti, 0.2% Islam, 0.02% Bon . 99.8% of the population were Nepalese, 0.2% Indian. The literacy of the over 5 year olds was given as 72%.
