The district Udayapur ( Nepali उदयपुर जिल्ला ) is one of 77 districts in Nepal and has been part of the Constitution of 2015 for Province No. 1, .
history
The district was part of the Sagarmatha administrative zone until 2015 .
geography
The district forms a 80 km long east-west and 20 km wide strip in the southern Himalayas . It extends from the Mahabharat chain in the north over the Inner Terai to the Siwaliks in the south. The Koshi forms the eastern border, the Sunkoshi the northern border of the district. In the west the Kamala runs a short distance along the district boundary.
The district had 287,689 inhabitants at the 2001 census. In 2011 there were 317,532.
