The district of Rautahat ( Nepali रौतहट जिल्ला) is one of 77 districts in Nepal .
The Rautahat District is part of the Narayani Administrative Zone . The administrative seat is in Gaur im Terai . In 2001 the district had 545,132 inhabitants; In 2011 there were 686,722. The population is predominantly Hindu ; With a share of almost 20%, Rautahat has the highest share of Muslims in the country.
