The Saptari District ( Nepali सप्तरी ) is one of 77 districts in Nepal and has belonged to Province No. 2 since the 2015 constitution .
history
Until 2015, the district was part of the Sagarmatha administrative zone .
geography
The district is located in the Terai and extends from the first Siwalik chain in the north to the Indian border in the south. The rivers Balan and Koshi , one of the three largest rivers in Nepal, delimit the district to the west and east.
The climate is tropical with hot and very humid summers (temperatures between 33 ° C and 26 ° C, humidity around 85%) and mild winters (temperatures between 25 ° C and 11 ° C, humidity around 40%). The monsoons start in May and last until October.
In 2001 it had 570,282 inhabitants, in 2011 there were 639,284.
