The district of Bhojpur ( Nepali भोजपुर जिल्ला ) is one of 77 districts in Nepal and has belonged to Province No. 1 since the constitution of 2015 .
Its main town is the city of the same name, Bhojpur .
geography
The 1507 km² district is located in the east of Nepal in the foothills of the Himalayas . Its district neighbors are Khotang in the west and Udayapur in the south . In the east, Bhojpur borders on the district of Dhankuta and in the north on the districts of Sankhuwasabha and Solukhumbu .
population
According to the census, the district had 203,018 inhabitants in 2001 and the population density was 134.7 people / km². The largest ethnic groups in the district are the Rai , the Chetri and the Tamang as well as the Brahmins and the Newar .
