The Kalikot District ( Nepali कालीकोट जिल्ला Kālikot Jillā ) is one of 77 districts in Nepal and has belonged to the Karnali Province since the 2015 constitution .

history

The district was in the Karnali administrative zone until 2015 .

geography

The Karnali flows through the western part of the district in a south-westerly direction. Your left tributary Tila crosses the eastern part. The district administration is located in Manma , which has been part of the newly founded city of Khandachakra since 2017 , at the confluence of the two rivers.

In 2017, Kalikot was one of the ten poorest and most underdeveloped districts in Nepal with a Human Development Index value of less than 0.4.

At the 2001 census it had 105,580 inhabitants; In 2011 there were 136,948.
