The Terhathum District (also Tehrathum ; Nepali तेह्रथुम जिल्ला ) is one of 77 districts in Nepal and has belonged to Province No. 1 since the 2015 constitution .
The Tamor River forms the eastern and southern district boundaries.
The district had 113,111 inhabitants at the 2001 census.
The name means "thirteen castles", which are said to have existed in the area of the Limbu , the people living in the district.
