Giacinto Amati
Giacinto Amati , also Hyacinth Giacinto , (* 1778 in Monza ; † December 27, 1850 in Milan ) was an Italian Catholic theologian and travel writer.
Life
Giacinto Amati was a brother of the architect Carlo Amati . He was pastor at the Milanese church of Santa Maria dei Servi. In his spare time he was either doing research or traveling. So a trip took him to Algiers . There he visited Antoine Dupuch , the bishop of the Archdiocese of Algiers . This appointed Amati canon at the cathedral of Algiers.
Amati died on December 27, 1850 in Milan and was buried in the local San Carlo Church; his grave monument is there on the altar. Amati wrote some travelogues.
