Giacomo Campiotti

Giacomo Campiotti (born July 8, 1957 in Varese ) is an Italian screenwriter and film director .

Life

Campiotti studied education at the University of Bologna and worked from 1979 as an assistant director for u. a. Mario Monicelli and Francesco Laudadio . Between 1983 and 1987 he made short films as a member of the Ipotesi Cinema founded by Ermanno Olmi . In 1989 he made his debut with the children's film Corsa di primavera in the feature film sector and was quickly commissioned with follow-up work; including the remake of Doctor Schiwago as a prestige object for television, for which he has been working intensively since then.

In addition to this work, Campiotti also shot a number of video clips, several times for Lucio Dalla .

His films have won several awards: in 1989 his first work at the Giffoni Film Festival , in 1996 he won the Nastro d'Argento for Come due coccodrilli , in 1999 he received the Prix Tournage at the Avignon Film Festival for Il tempo dell'amore ,
