Giacomo Orefice

Giacomo Orefice (born August 27, 1865 in Vicenza ; died December 22, 1922 in Milan ) was an Italian pianist and composer .

life and work

Giacomo Orifice was a student of Alessandro Busi and Luigi Mancinelli at the Conversatory in Bologna . He also earned a doctorate in law. From 1909 on he taught composition at the G. Verdi Conversatory in Milan . In 1920 he became a critic for the newspaper Il Seculo .

In the anthology of old and new music for piano ( Ricordi ) edited by Gino Tagliapietra , his Preludio e Fuga un soggetto di Meyerbeer was included.
