Giancarlo Vilarinho
Giancarlo Vilarinho (born April 2, 1992 in São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian racing driver .
Career
Like most motorsport enthusiasts , Vilarinho began his career in karting . In 2008 he made his debut in formula racing . He competed in the American Formula BMW for EuroInternational . While his teammate Alexander Rossi won the championship title, Vilarinho was sixth with two second places as the best results. He also took part in six European Formula BMW races as a guest starter. In 2009 Vilarinho stayed with EuroInternational in the American Formula BMW. He dueled with his teammate Gabby Chaves for the title. Although Vilarinho won half of all races with seven wins, he had to admit defeat Chaves with 187 to 235 points and became runner-up. He also took part in a race in the Star Mazda Series .
After the American Formula BMW was discontinued, Vilarinho was initially without a cockpit in 2010 . In August he finally took part in two Indy Lights races for Andersen Racing . In the overall ranking he finished 27th.
