Gibica
Gibica is the first named king of the Burgundy , but not historically proven . It is hypothetically dated to the end of the 4th century. The proven Burgundian kings of the 5th century are considered his descendants.
His name is mentioned in the Lex Burgundionum , but also in the Atlilied and (as Gjúki ) in the Völsunga saga . The in Waltharius occurring Gibbich , King of Franci Nebulones , is equated with him, from which the connection to the Nibelungen saga is made. In the Nibelung saga, where he is called Dankrat / Dankrad / Tankred , Gunnar / Gundahar / Gunther, Guttorm / Godomar / Gundomer and Giselher (Gislahar) are considered to be his sons or descendants, whom he had together with his wife Ute . As far as Scandinavian legends are included, Högni ( Hagen von Tronje ) should also be his son.
