Gideoni Monteiro Rodrigues (born September 2, 1989 in Groaíras ) is a former Brazilian cyclist who competed in races on track and road .

Athletic career

In 2012 Gideoni Monteiro became the Pan American champion in the single pursuit , with the Brazilian four he won the silver medal. At the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto , he finished third in the Omnium.

In 2016 Monteiro was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro to start in the Omnium. In July 2016, he was the first cyclist to be officially allowed to ride the cycle track in the Rio Olympic Velodrome . In the games he was ranked 13th in the Omnium.

Monteiro started for the CDA FAB , a sports club of the Brazilian Air Force, comparable to a sports soldier in Germany.
