Gieri Cavelty

Gieri Cavelty (* 1976 ) is a Swiss journalist . He has been editor-in-chief of SonntagsBlicks since 2017 .

Life

Cavelty studied history and German literature at the University of Zurich and graduated from Rudolf Käser with a licentiate in 2004 . He has worked as a journalist in various media since 1998. Among other things, he worked as a cultural journalist - as a culture editor for the Bündner Tagblatt and as a freelance literary critic for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) - and later as a parliamentary correspondent for Southeast Switzerland and the Tages-Anzeiger . From 2009 Cavelty was head of the domestic department, from 2011 as a journalist and head of the supra-regional editorial department and in the last three years also in the role of deputy editor-in-chief at Aargauer Zeitung . He was then a member of the management team and head of information and communication at the State Secretariat for Migration . Cavelty has been editor-in-chief of SonntagsBlicks since 2017 .

Cavelty is married to the author Sibylle Stillhart and has three children.
