Gijs Luirink (born September 12, 1983 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch football player . The defender is under contract with Sparta Rotterdam in the Eerste Divisie .
Career
society
In his youth, Luirink initially played for FC Abcoude and later for Ajax Amsterdam . However, his professional career began at the second division club FC Volendam , where he made a total of 54 appearances in the Eerste Divisie . Between 2004 and 2006 he wore the colors of FC Groningen before moving to Alkmaar in summer 2006. In the first year he took third place with red and whites. Due to a serious injury, he was out the entire 2007/08 season and did not play a game for AZ.
After running for RKC Waalwijk in the 2009/10 season , he returned to Alkmaar in the summer of 2010; in the winter break 2010/11 he was loaned to second division SC Cambuur.
National team
He was a participant in the U-21 European Football Championship in Portugal in 2006 .
